Bay of Rynninge


Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
A nutrient-rich, shallow bay of Lake Hjälmaren, surrounded by cattle-grazed wet meadows. The bay was, until recently, a landfill site˜restoration was undertaken during 1992-1996 by the city of örebro authorities.



Key biodiversity
This is an important site for breeding wetland passerines and passage wildfowl and waders.



Protected areas
National Partial International PartialIBA overlaps with 2 Nature Reserves (totalling 560 ha). IBA overlaps with Special Protection Area (560 ha).
