Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but this species is described as 'common' (Stotz et al. 1996, Curson 2020).
Trend justification: Tree cover loss in the last 10 years has equated to less than 2% within the species range (Global Forest Watch 2021, using Hansen et al. [2013] data and methods disclosed therein). Whilst forest loss may accelerate in the future, based on projection of habitat loss in parts of the species' range (per Negret et al. 2021), it is unknown if such rates will be sufficiently rapid. As such, the population is suspected to be Stable.
