Justification of Red List category
This species is confined to a tiny area of montane forest in the Chin Hills, where it is inferred to have a small population. Slash-and-burn agriculture is reducing the extent of suitable habitat, and the species occurs at only a small number of Locations, thus qualifying it for Endangered.

Population size: 1000-2499 mature individuals

Population trend: decreasing

Extent of occurrence (breeding/resident): 300 km2
