Taxonomic note
Cyornis herioti and C. camarienensis (del Hoyo and Collar 2016) were previously lumped as C. herioti following Sibley & Monroe (1990, 1993).

Population justification: The species is conservatively suspected to be less than 10,000 mature individuals, and possibly less than 2,500 mature individuals, based on known records, low population density estimates for closely related species and assuming only a proportion of its range is occupied. Therefore it is currently placed in the range of 2,500-9,999 mature individuals. It is also assumed that the number of individuals in each subpopulation of C. camarinensis is likely less than 1,000 mature individuals.

Trend justification: The population is thought to be in decline owing to ongoing habitat destruction.
