Nesoenas cicur (del Hoyo and Collar 2014) was newly described from subfossil records by Hume (2011).

Population justification: The species is known to be extinct.

Trend justification: Very little is know about the species. It is thought to have gone extinct by around 1730 as a result of over-hunting, predation, and deforestation (Hume 2017).
