Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified but it is described as fairly common (Eaton et al. 2021) and it is evidently fairly widespread and commonly encountered on Java's western mountains (Marsden et al. 2023, eBird 2023).
Trend justification: Remote sensing data has detected no habitat loss within the elevational range of this species for c.20 years (Global Forest Watch 2023) and it is not reported from trade. In the absence of other threats, its population trend is suspected to be stable.
