Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but this species is reported to be common on Grand Bahama, Abaco, Eleuthera and Cat Island, uncommon on Andros and rare on New Providence (Raffaele et al. 1998). Therefore, as the species is described as 'common' in at least parts of its range (Raffaele et al. 1998), the population is believed to be large. The population is suspected to be in decline owing to ongoing habitat destruction.
Trend justification: The population is suspected to be in decline owing to ongoing habitat destruction.
