LC
Arabian Sunbird Cinnyris hellmayri

Taxonomy

Taxonomic note
Cinnyris habessinicus and C. hellmayri (del Hoyo and Collar 2016) were previously placed in the genus Nectarinia and lumped as N. habessinica following Dowsett and Forbes-Watson (1993); Sibley and Monroe (1990, 1993).
Differs from C. habessinicus in its much-reduced and slightly duller red breastband in male (2); more extensive and deeper blue reflectant uppertail-coverts in male (1); much darker grey or grey-brown plumage in female (2); larger size (effect size for wing of subspecies kinneari vs C. h. habessinicus 2.03, score 2); and seemingly different song (Boesman 2016). Two subspecies recognized.
