Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context
Located in the north-eastern part of Yunnan, with the Jingsha Jiang valley to the west and north. At 3,188 m, Jingzi Shan is the highest peak in the area, while the lowest point is at 350 m in the Jingsha Jiang valley.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected plants include Castanopsis platycantha and Tetracentron sinense.



Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
The IBA includes the provincial-level Sanjiangkou Nature Reserve (680 ha) which was established in 1984. However, the reserve is too small to protect the threatened species.
