Site description (2000 baseline)
The site comprises both slow and fast-flowing rivers, marshes, woodland and dry calcareous grassland. Human activities include gravel exploitation, agriculture, fishing, hunting and tourism, including boating.
Key biodiversity
The site is a migratory bottleneck, where more than 3,000 raptors regularly pass. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet criteria: Aythya nyroca (wintering).
