Site location and context
An area of flood-plain meadows and pastures dissected by ditches, with a few deciduous trees and bushes. The IBA has three separate parts: Belziger Landschaftswiesen (Bustard Protection Area), Havelländisches Luch, and Unteres Rhinluch/Dreetzer See.
Approximately 80% of the German
Otis tarda population occurs in the site. The site holds more than 20,000 passage waterbirds on a regular basis. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Crex crex (5-16 breeding pairs).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The land is intensively cultivated resulting in some adverse ecological changes.

International HighIBA overlaps with Nature Reserve. IBA overlaps with Special Protection Area.
