Site description (2000 baseline)
A coastal site including shallow fjord areas, saltmarshes, reedbeds, small freshwater lakes and agricultural land. The Ulvedybet area is a brackish lake that has been dammed-off from the Limfjord.

Key biodiversity
The site holds more than 20,000 waterfowl and is particularly important for wintering Cygnus cygnus. Several species listed on Annex I of the Birds Directive breed at the site including Platalea leucorodia, Circus aeruginosus, Recurvirostra avosetta, Philomachus pugnax, Sterna sandvicensis, S. hirundo, S. paradisaea and S. albifrons.
