Site description (2009 baseline)
Located in Hunchun City. The IBA is on the northern slopes of the Changbai Shan mountains near to where China borders Russia and North Korea. Habitats include many lakes, sand islands and marshes, and it is estimated that over 20,000 birds occur in the area.
Key biodiversity
Non-bird biodiversity: There are occasional records of Phoca largha at Kangjiangkou.
