Site summary
The site boundary is based upon a seaward extension of 30 km around Atafu to encompass the foraging range of IBA threshold numbers of Black Noddy based upon a 2011 population estimate of 15,000 breeding pairs, Brown Noddy based upon a 2011 population estimate of 10,000 breeding pairs, and Common White Tern based upon a 2011 population estimate of 5,000 breeding pairs from Pierce, R., Gruber, M., Atherton, J. and Burne, A.
