Site description (2000 baseline)
A large, very shallow bay with stone reefs, numerous islands and several inlets along the coast.

Key biodiversity
The area is of high importance for wintering waterbirds, with tens of thousands of birds regularly wintering at the site, including over 8% of the north-west European population of Cygnus olor.
