Site description (2000 baseline):

A diverse subalpine area with semi-natural forests, grassland, large fens, springs, rivers and streams

This is an important site for woodland, heathland and wetland birds.

There are programmes to encourage non-intensive land-use and low-impact tourism.

National None International PartialIBA overlaps with Biosphere Reserve.
