Site description (2000 baseline)
A stretch of the Rhine river valley comprising riverine forest, dry, over-utilized riparian forest, Salix scrub, rough meadows, rapids, gravel-banks, springs, gravel-pits, arable land and the slopes of the foothills.
Key biodiversity
Breeding species include Pernis apivorus and Alcedo atthis. The site is nationally important for wintering wildfowl.
