Site description (2000 baseline)
The area includes woodland, marshes, wet meadows, dunes and beaches, agricultural land and an estuary.

Key biodiversity
The site is a migratory bottleneck, where more than 3,000 raptors regularly pass in spring (including Milvus migrans 1,600 individuals; Pernis apivorus 650 individuals).
