Site location and context
A mountainous area with deciduous and conifer forests, large areas of heathlands, scree and rocky slopes and alpine meadows.
This is an important site for species associated with open upland habitats and forest, particularly breeding raptors. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Tetrax tetrax (1-10 breeding pairs).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Afforestation with conifers, changes in cattle-raising practices and recreation are the main threats to the site.

International Partial85,100 ha of IBA covered by National Park (Les Cévennes, 91,500 ha). 1,000 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (1,000 ha). 84,000 ha of IBA covered by Biosphere Reserve (84,000 ha). 77,600 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Les Cévennes, 84,000 ha).
