Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A rugged mountain chain which forms high cliffs along the south-east coast of Skyros. The dominant vegetation is phrygana with small patches of grassland and
Quercus and
Acer woodland.
This is an important site for seabirds, raptors and species associated with scrub.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The most important threat is overgrazing of the phrygana. This is also preventing regeneration of the remnant patches of woodland. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.
