Site description (2000 baseline)
Over 60% of this site is occupied by non-intensive vineyards. These are interspersed with arable land, small patches of woodland, dry grassland, hedgerows and orchards. Broadleaved deciduous forest is found on the steeper slopes. Parts of the river course are still in a near-natural state. The main human activity is viticulture.
Key biodiversity
The site holds significant breeding populations of species found in richly structured, open landscapes.
