A shallow fjord with coastal saltmarshes and agricultural land (less than 5% of the total IBA area).
In 1983
Anas crecca and
Mergus serrator populations also met the IBA criteria and the total number of waterbirds exceeded 20,000 individuals.
National Low
International High7,590 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Lovns Bredning, 7,590 ha). 7,590 ha of IBA covered by Ramsar Site (Vejlerne and Løgstør Bredning, 45,280 ha).
