Site description (2006 baseline)
The IBA consists of an oval waterbody of moderate size to the north west of Golubovka village (Ertisky district). The general proportions of the lake fluctuate from 2.5 x 2 to 2 x 1.5 km according to the current water level phase. The lake has a mosaic of reedbeds amid a system of channels and stretches of open water.

The typical avifauna of a small steppe lake.
