Site description (2001 baseline)
Area located on the Caspian shore on the border of Dagestan and Kalmyk regions. In inventory 1995 RU172 and RU178 were identified as different IBAs. But by moment RU178 (Island) is below the Caspian sea level, so more carefull to merge Ru172 and Ru178 in one IBA (RU178 SHOULD BE DELETED FROM DATABASE).
