Site description (2000 baseline)
Most of this site is in the montane and subalpine zones. It is predominantly forested with substantial areas of broadleaved deciduous forest, dominated by Fagus on the southern slopes. The majority of the forest is not utilized for forestry, except on the lower slopes.

Key biodiversity
An important area for breeding and resident species characteristic of montane and subalpine forest.
