Site description (2000 baseline)
The site comprises saltpans, lagoons, sand and shingle beaches, and a small area of steppe, on Lanzarote. Human activities include exploitation of the saltpans.

Key biodiversity
This site is important for breeding and wintering waterbirds. It is also one of the best sites in the Canary Islands for migrant waders, both in terms of the variety of species present and the numbers of individuals.
