Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A complex of 42 islets and the solitary Pharmakonisi islet. The area is generally overgrazed.
The site is important for breeding raptors and seabirds, and for passage migrants. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Falco naumanni (2-5 breeding pairs).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from overgrazing and hunting. The site was included in a LIFE project on the conservation of
Larus audouinii. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.

International Low50 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Vrachonisides Voreiou Dodekanisou, 374 ha).
