Site description (2000 baseline)
An area of raised bog, partly forested with native broadleaved and conifer forest. Outside the protected core area are wet hay-meadows and pastures, together with two lakes, one of which is used for recreation.
Key biodiversity
An important site for species breeding in raised bog and humid grassland such as Numenius arquata (13-14 pairs) and Vanellus vanellus (35-40 pairs).
