Site description (2009 baseline)
Located along the border of Tongjiang and Fuyuan counties. This was the first nature reserve established in the Sanjiang wetlands. The forest patches provide breeding sites for Ciconia boyciana.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Twenty-five mammal species have been recorded in the area, including seven that are nationally protected. Nationally protected plants include Phellodendron chinense, Fraxinus mandshurica and Juglans mandshurica.
