Of major international importance for breeding, moulting, passage and wintering waterbirds, particularly wildfowl (Anatidae) and waders.

National Partial International HighIBA overlaps with National Park. IBA overlaps with Biosphere Reserve and Special Protection Area, Ramsar Site.
