Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A complex of 16 islands characterized by cliffs and rocky shores. The dominant vegetation is phrygana and maquis with some olive-groves and cereal fields. Human activities include livestock-farming, fishing, hunting and recreation.
This is an important area for breeding seabirds and species typical of Mediterranean scrub. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Haliaeetus albicilla.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Increasing tourism is the most important threat. The area is a candidate SAC.
