Site description (2000 baseline)
A mountainous area of limestone karst in the central Apennines, covered mainly by broadleaved forests (especially beech Fagus) and extensive rocky pastures. The site is rich in rocky cliffs and caves. The main land-use is the rearing of cattle and horses.
Key biodiversity
An important site for some raptor and passerine species.
