Site summary
This area includes the end of Lake Untersee (part of Lake Constance) and a predominantly natural section of the river Rhine. The shoreline has small bays with areas of reedbeds and mudflats. The site regularly holds 20’000 or more waterbirds in winter, on a regular basis (including Common Goldeneye, 1’700 individuals). The main threat is disturbance from boats.
