Site description (1994 baseline):

Site location and context
A large storage reservoir on the Dez river in the arid Zagros foothills c.15 km north-east of Dezful.

Key biodiversity
See box for key species. An important site for wintering waterfowl, notably herons and egrets, Anser anser and Grus grus.

Non-bird biodiversity: None known to BirdLife International.



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
No conservation measures are known to have been proposed and there is no information on threats to the site.
