Site description (2000 baseline)
A mountainous area in the Cordillera Cantábrica with extensive deciduous woods dominated by Fagus sylvatica. The area is used for game hunting, coal mining and cattle-grazing.
Key biodiversity
This is an important site for breeding species associated with upland forests and open alpine habitats.
