Site description (2000 baseline)
A lower montane area with broadleaved forests (Quercus and Fagus) and heathland.

Key biodiversity
The site is a migratory bottleneck, where more than 3,000 cranes and 3,000 raptors regularly pass (including Pernis apivorus 2,500; Milvus milvus 3,500; Grus grus 15,000).
