Site description (2000 baseline)
A mountainous area in the centre of Badajoz province with high cliffs, extensive areas of broadleaved evergreen forest, sclerophyllous scrub and dehesas in the valleys. The area is used for livestock- grazing.
Key biodiversity
The site is important for raptors. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Aegypius monachus (25 non-breeding individuals).
