Site description (2000 baseline)
An area of plains to the south-west of Salamanca with dehesas, arable crops and grasslands. The site is crossed by the River Azaba with alluvial forest. The main human activities are arable cultivation and livestock-farming.
Key biodiversity
This is an important site for breeding raptors and Ciconia nigra. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Tetrax tetrax (5 resident pairs).
