Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
An upland area to the south-east of Gallocanta lake, covered by scrub, small areas of cereal cultivation and small patches of
Pinus woodland.
This is an important area for steppic birds, particularly
Chersophilus duponti. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Tetrax tetrax (resident).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The abandonment of traditional agriculture, irrigation schemes and illegal hunting threaten the area.
