Site description (2000 baseline)
A shallow bay containing some 20 islands, surrounded by extensive grazed meadows and reedbeds Phragmites. Dryer areas support Juniperus.

Key biodiversity
The IBA is important for breeding waterbirds and as a stop-over site for passage wildfowl and waders.
