An isolated, mountainous area with ravines and gorges and limestone scree in the alpine zone. Forest cover is dominated by fir
Abies and pine
Pinus with small patches of deciduous woodland. The main human activity is livestock-farming.
The area is important for alpine species and raptors.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threat is from hunting. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.
