This species is known only from three specimens, and there are no field records except for a series of (unconfirmed) records. There is no information on its likely distribution extent, population size or trends, although it is suspected to be restricted to montane areas and so it is unlikely to be experiencing any intense threats. For these reasons, it is classified as Data Deficient.
