Taxonomic note
Momotus momota, M. coeruliceps, M. lessonii, M. subrufescens, M. bahamensis and M. aequatorialis (del Hoyo and Collar 2014) were previously lumped as M. momota following SACC (2005). Prior to that, M. aequatorialis had been split following Stotz et al. (1996), and before that all forms were lumped with M. momota following Sibley and Monroe (1990, 1993).
