Taxonomic note
Myrmotherula axillaris (AOU [1998 & supplements]; SACC [2005 & updates]; Sibley & Monroe [1990, 1993]; Stotz et al. [1996]) and M. fluminensis (SACC [2005 & updates]; Sibley & Monroe [1990, 1993]; Stotz et al. [1996]) have been lumped and subsequently split into M. axillaris and M. luctuosa following del Hoyo and Collar (2016).
