Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is reported to be relatively common (del Hoyo et al. 1997). The population is suspected to be decreasing as habitat loss has caused declines and local extinctions in parts of its range.

Trend justification: The population is suspected to be decreasing as habitat loss has caused declines and local extinctions in parts of its range.
