Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as locally common to uncommon in Thailand and rare in western Yunnan, China (Feare and Craig 1998). The population is suspected to be increasing as ongoing habitat degradation is creating new areas of suitable habitat (Feare and Craig 1998).

Trend justification: The population is suspected to be increasing as ongoing habitat degradation is creating new areas of suitable habitat (Feare and Craig 1998).
