Taxonomic note

Acridotheres burmannicus and A. leucocpehalus (del Hoyo and Collar 2016) were previously lumped as Sturnus burmannicus following Sibley & Monroe (1990, 1993).

Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as locally common to uncommon in Thailand and rare in western Yunnan, China (Feare and Craig 1998).
