Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but this species is described as 'fairly common' (Stotz et al. 1996).
Trend justification: The population trend has not been assessed directly. The only threat known to the species is forest loss, but rates of deforestation have been low in the species's range (<2% over ten years; Tracewski et al. 2016; Global Forest Watch 2020). Precautionarily, it is assumed that the species is undergoing a slow decline caused by low levels of habitat loss within the range.
