Population justification: The global population is estimated to number 50,000-499,999 mature individuals (Partners in Flight 2019). The species is described as 'fairly common' (Stotz et al. 1996).
Trend justification:
The species is undergoing a small decline (Partners in Flight 2019). A remote sensing analysis found that habitat within the range has been lost at a rate of 5% over three generations (Tracewski et al. 2016); thus the species may be declining at < 10% over three generations.
