Taxonomic note
The genus Fulvetta has been moved from the family Sylviidae to Paradoxornithidae following Cai et al. (2019). Fulvetta formosana (del Hoyo and Collar 2016) was previously listed as Alcippe formosana. Formerly treated as conspecific with F. cinereiceps and F. manipurensis. Monotypic.

Population justification: The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is described as common (del Hoyo et al. 2007). This species is considered to have a high dependency on forest habitat, and tree cover is estimated to have declined by only 0.6% within its mapped range over the past 10 years (Global Forest Watch 2022, using Hansen et al. [2013] data and methods disclosed therein). The population trend is therefore considered stable.
