Taxonomic note
Leuconotopicus stricklandi (del Hoyo and Collar 2014) was previously placed in the genus Picoides. Picoides stricklandi (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) was previously split into P. stricklandi and P. arizonae following AOU (2000).
